Costa Dorada Golf provides golf vacations and activity breaks in the southern part of Catalonia where the mild Mediterranean climate offers an ideal all year round opportunity to spend ones holidays.
From Barcelona down to the southern border of Catalonia and beyond we offer quality apartments, villas, masias and rustic country houses at affordable prices that make ideal bases from which to enjoy the golf courses of the Costa Daurada and also to enjoy the culture, gastronomy and warmth of the people.
The Costa Dorada or Costa Daurada as it is also written stretches from Catalonia’s southern border with the rest of Spain up to Barcelona and includes the Costa de Garraf which is immediately to the south of Barcelona. The coastline is predominantly flat except for the massif of Garraf which shelters the famous resort of Sitges giving it its well known microclimate and endless days of sunshine.
Golf on the Costa Dorada is superb and is home to some spectacular courses such as Bonmont Terres Noves, Costa Dorada Golf, Panoramica Golf and Country Club, Masia Bach and Reus Aiguesverds. The climate is ideal for golf all year round and the courses are readily accessible from the coastal resorts for those who like a variety.
The Costa Dorada has Tarragona as its capital and is served by Reus/Tarragona airport along with Barcelona airport which is forty five minutes to the north. Tarragona is a superb example of a Roman city and is now a World Heritage centre and well worth a visit.
The Costa Daurada to the north and south of Tarragona, has two well defined sectors: the long sandy beaches with their mild climate and blue sky and the Ebro delta, a natural park with a beautiful natural landscape.
The main tourist towns on the Costa Dorada are Sitges, Torredembarra, Salou with its Universal Mediterranea theme park, Cambrils and L'Ametlla de Mar. In the hinterland there are beautiful mountains, the banks of the Ebro, fine old cities such as Tortosa and Montblanc, ancient monasteries with a long historical tradition and set amongst spectacular scenery including Montserrat, Poblet and Santes Creus.
The Costa Dorada is also home to important wine growing areas such as Penedes, Priorat and Terra Alta. Many of these vineyards have organised tours which include tasting. |
